The assessment was commissioned by RUWASSA. The aassessment sought to ascertain the functionality and efficiency status of Hand Pumps and Water Management Committees constructed and rehabilitated by RUWASSA between 2015 and 2016.The specific objective of the assessment included;
The assessment employed a descriptive research design in which a mix-method approach including both quantitative and qualitative methods to ensure that all resource and technical capacities gaps and recommendations from various stakeholders are appropriately identified. Quantitative data was collected survey with Water Management Committees regarding the existence and efficiency of Water Management Committees and Hand Pump Observations about the physical status of the hand pump and its surrounding. Qualitative data was collected through Focus group Discussions with the members of the Water Management Committees as well as Key Informant Interviews with local leaders.
