The assessment was funded by the Dutch Government and commissioned by Euro Consult Mott MacDonald under the Water for Lakes Project. The assessment aimed at assessing the quality of Water User Committees (WUC) and Hygiene trainings conducted by implementing partners in Eastern Lakes’ state and to determine the overall performance of the CSOs in the locations. It further aimed at establishing the sustainability of hygiene and WUC interventions in targeted locations. The geographical coverage of the assessment was limited to Eastern Lakes State covering three Counties of Yirol East, Awerial and Yirol West.
The study employed descriptive cross-sectional techniques in which only qualitative methods were applied. Data was collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Key informant Interviews, unstructured observations and through randomized village transect walks.
