The Fragility, Crisis Sensitivity, And Complexity (F2C) assessment is funded by USAID and implemented through IMA World Health under Momentum Integrated Health Resilience (MI-HR) program- South Sudan. The F2C assessment focuses on providing a detailed understanding of shocks, stresses, conflicts and crises that contribute to and perpetuate fragility in South Sudan.
The assessment adopts a cross-sectional descriptive study design utilizing qualitative methods of inquiry to promote an in-depth meaning, understanding and context of shocks (including conflict and other crises) and stresses that are both more likely in fragile settings and perpetuate fragility. Qualitative data was supplemented by a desk review of international, national, and sub-national sources for information on shocks (including conflicts and crises) and stresses that contribute to fragility and the impact on the health and well-being of communities in areas where MI-HR works.
The main methods of primary data collection include Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions targeting a diverse group of stakeholders to capture how communities, organizations, and institutions experience and respond to past, current, and anticipated shocks (including conflicts and crises) and stresses.
