Locations
Juba, Central Equatoria State
Sample size

Performance period
December 2020 - February 2021

The assessment was funded by USAID under ACHIEVE project and commissioned by PACT Inc. The main objectives of the assessment were;

  • To assess the current market, employment opportunities/potentials, entrepreneurship opportunities, available skills for Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) within Juba County (Rejaf, Munuki, Kator and Juba Town) to inform programming and the development of actionable economic strengthening strategies and activities.
  • Evaluate and assess how to link small enterprises (start-up small businesses) to the bigger established enterprises to take advantages of potential opportunities within their supply chain mechanisms.

The assessment used a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods to collect relevant data which included desk review of grey literature, a quantitative Market Opportunity Survey (MOS), and AGYW Skills Survey (ASS). A skills development capacity assessment and qualitative interviews with project target beneficiaries and selected key informants were also conducted. Data from MOS and ASS was collected digitally using KoBoCollect mobile data collection software in the four Town Blocks and this increased efficiency and minimized exposure risks to COVID-19.
