KAP survey on WASH and GBV in Aweil West and Aweil North Counties, Northern Bahr el Gazal State

The survey was commissioned by Christian Aid and its implementing partner SPEDP. The overall objective of the study was to generate adequate and quality information that will be used to determine the impact of the WASH and GBV sector of the project by establishing evidence-based data which will demonstrate knowledge on WASH and GBV outcomes in Aweil West and Aweil East counties. Specifically the survey seeks to;

  • Determine the qualitative and quantitative changes among the target communities including social and behavior changes (knowledge, attitudes and Practices) related to WASH and GBV issues.
  • Measure the impact of awareness raising activities on WASH and GBV at individual and households’ levels.
  • Examine the context specific factors that influence the adoption of good WASH practices and GBV response strategies and recommend measures that could be use in adapting future programming.

The KAP Survey adopteda cross-sectional descriptive study utilizing qualitative and Quantitative methods of data collection. Quantitative data collection methods used include Household survey and qualitative methods mainly include Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
